The Department of Physiological Sciences consists of 2 Departments: Department of Animal Physiology and Department of Biochemistry and Dietetics. In total, the KNF employs 21 employees, including 15 teachers and 6 technical employees. The group of teachers includes 3 full professors, 3 university professors, 2 habilitated doctors and 5 assistant professors, 2 assistants. Currently, 13 doctoral students are carrying out their doctoral theses at the KNF as part of the full-time doctoral study “The biological basis for regulating animal growth and maintaining animal health.” The most important research directions implemented at the Polish Financial Supervision Authority are: a) stem cell biology, b) regulation of the growth and development of animal organisms, c) nutrition physiology and dietetics, d) regulation of organ functions in physiological and pathological states and veterinary immuno-oncology. KNF is very well equipped with scientific research equipment, concentrated in unique laboratories of functional genomics, metabolomics, cytometry and confocal microscopy, as well as laboratories of liquid and gas chromatography, laboratories of molecular biology, cell culture, mineral and biochemical analyzes. KNF employees conduct classes in 16 subjects in full-time, evening and extramural studies.
