European Research Area (ERA) is the unified area in which scientific knowledge, technology, innovation and researchers circulate freely. Its policies are geared towards removing barriers and putting the conditions in place so that scientists can move more easily, concentrate on their research and have better access to funding. In order to accomodate the EU to the enormous societal, ecological and economic challenges, the process of renewing the ERA was started.

During the webinar the representatives of the European Commission will present the new ERA along with its priorities and outline the initiatives and proposals on enhancing attractiveness of research careers and working conditions. It will be followed by a panel discussion with researchers and experts from V4 countries.

The following questions will be addressed during the debate:

1) What are the most serious challenges for sustainable research careers?

2) How is the new ERA addressing these challenges?

3) How could current changes that societies and economies undergo redefine research careers?

4) What are the most effective ways to support balanced talent circulation and mobility across the ERA?
